Wedding Cake Inspiration To Die For

If there is one thing that almost every one of our Wedding Planners loves, it’s catching a glimpse of the decadent wedding cakes which take pride of place at Gabbinbar Homestead. 1, 2 or 3 tiers, we don’t discriminate, we love all wedding cakes no matter what their style or flavour is.

You have to remember that although the wedding cake looks oh so pretty just sitting there, the cake cutting actually represents the first activity done as a couple once they are officially married. We often find that this tradition is one that even the modern bride keeps as part of her day. Choosing a wedding cake allows the bride and groom to inject their own dose of personality into the styling for their wedding day.

A three-tiered black wedding cake is elegantly decorated with clusters of white flowers and green leaves. The cake features intricate textures on each tier, and the background shows softly lit windows and greenery outside.

Along with the first dance and bouquet toss, the cutting of the wedding cake is a charming tradition and one of those photo opportunities that graces every wedding album. So, while we are on the topic of photos it’s important to be clear with your wedding photographer about what style of shot you are after. Before the celebration, be clear and specific with them about your shot list. Do you want the traditional posed shot of the two of you cutting the cake together, or do you prefer a more candid, documentary-style one? Is a close-up of your hands on the knife important, or are you only interested in the big picture? Nailing down these must-have photos will steer your pro in the right direction so you can be totally in the moment instead of worrying about whether or not they're capturing the right shots. Ok, that’s enough from us, go on, sink your teeth into this gorgeous wedding cake inspiration — enjoy!
