Marcus and Kaitlynne are true high school sweethearts, meeting in Grade 9 and marrying 12 years later in their home town of Toowoomba. Marcus and Kaitlynne celebrated their ceremony on the beautiful ‘Governor’s Lawn’ followed by their reception in the ‘Conservatory’. Celebrating alongside 126 of their loved ones, Marcus and Kaitlynn created a day to remember at the Gabbinbar Homestead estate.
Marcus planned a surprise proposal which he executed perfectly. Even though Marcus and Kaitlynne had been dating for just over 12 years, Kaitlynne did not see this proposal coming. In December 2016, Marcus and Kaitlynne had a 'Christmas party' in Brisbane to attend for Marcus's work so they decided to make a weekend out of it. All dressed up for the party, Marcus encouraged Kaitlynne to take a walk with him along beautiful Southbank boardwalk. Finding a secluded spot amongst the trees, Marcus told Kaitlynne there wasn't a ‘Christmas party’ and it was just the two of them in Brisbane. He then got down on one knee and asked Kaitlynne to marry him. Marcus followed his surprise proposal with a ride on the Brisbane Wheel where they enjoyed champagne and finished the evening with a 5-course dinner.
Marcus and Kaitlynne are both Toowoomba locals so they felt rather lucky to have Gabbinbar Homestead on their doorstep. Having been to a couple of wedding’s before at Gabbinbar Homestead, Marcus and Kaitlynne were familiar with the venue. However, when visiting Gabbinbar Homestead as a newly engaged couple, they really felt an extra spark. Falling in love with the venue even more, Marcus and Kaitlynne knew they didn't need to look at any other venues, Gabbinbar Homestead was locked in.
Lush, modern and of course romantic was the theme that Marcus and Kaitlynne created for their special day. Mixing natural timbers, greenery, bright florals with dark colours and candlelight created an atmosphere that was oozing with charm and romance. It was obvious that Marcus and Kaitlynne were full of love the minute Kaitlynne stepped foot down the aisle.
