Robert and Elizabeth hosted a glamorous Autumn wedding with a modern twist at Gabbinbar Homestead. Celebrating alongside 85 of their closest friends and family, Robert and Elizabeth were married at our ceremony location, ‘The Old Gates’ followed by their reception in our ‘Conservatory’. Enjoying an antipasto banquet and drinks on the lawn, wedding guests then moved inside Gabbinbar Homestead for a gourmet three-course dinner.
Now down to the details. Have you ever thought, ‘can I actually meet my future husband or wife on Tinder?’ Well, we’ve got good news for you, that’s exactly how Robert and Elizabeth met whilst in London. Despite neither of them being particularly avid users of Tinder, their relationship was entirely unexpected for both. It was obviously meant to be with Robert soon proposing in a secluded spot on Mooloolaba beach. A place very special to Elizabeth because she has been going there every Summer since she was a baby, Mooloolaba is now a cherished place for the both of them.
Robert and Elizabeth always knew they wanted to get married in a classic Australian homestead, so when they stumbled across Gabbinbar Homestead they knew they had found their perfect wedding venue. Plus, they had a number of international guests so Gabbinbar Homestead gave them an important taste of Australia’s history.
The beautiful styling of this wedding simply took our breath away. Soft pinks and whites mixed with lots of rich green foliage provided at elegant atmosphere. We love how the floral arrangements weren’t too structured, they flowed around the pillars in the ‘Conservatory’ and gave the room a relaxed and organic feel. The fireworks display in ‘The Woods’ following the first dance stole the show and was Robert and Elizabeth’s favourite moment from the day.
Now that the wedding planning process is over, Robert and Elizabeth had some helpful advice for other couples. “Be kind to each other, and to everyone involved with helping you plan your wedding, just enjoy the process! Being happy and relaxed is much more important than the colour of the napkins! That said, organisation, planning well in advance and communication with your suppliers are all key in pulling off your dream wedding”.
