Murray  +  Elspeth

Summer 2017

Fun, loving, relaxed and delicious are the four words Murray and Elspeth used, to sum up their Summer time wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead. Celebrating with 87 of their closest friends and family, Murray and Elspeth chose ‘The Pavilion’ for their ceremony and a fun-filled reception followed in our ‘Conservatory’ afterwards.

Murray and Elspeth met at work in 2008 but it wasn’t until 2011 that their romance really blossomed and they’ve never looked back. On New Year’s Eve 2016, Murray and Elspeth took a trip to Maleny Dairies where Murray proposed on one knee overlooking Lake Baroon in Montville.  Following the proposal, they both celebrated with a degustation lunch at the Long Apron restaurant and finished the day watching the fireworks over the story bridge in Brisbane with a bunch of their closest friends.  We don’t think Murray and Elspeth will ever forget New Year’s Eve of 2016.

When looking for a wedding venue, Murray and Elspeth wanted a destination wedding venue which was beautiful, classic and a place that could host the entire day. Gabbinbar Homestead, of course, fits this mould perfectly.

One thing that did stand out to Murray and Elspeth was they could do everything on site, from getting ready to the ceremony, photos and reception. Especially when it came to the photos, Murray and Elspeth loved that they didn’t have to leave the venue to get amazing images. When the portraits of the happy couple were taking place, their guests were an ear’s shot away. They felt like it was just the two of them, but at the same time could feel the love and enjoyment of all their friends and family.

Murray and Elspeth had some helpful advice for other couples who are amidst the wedding planning process. “Book the venue and main vendors in advance, after that, wedding planning can be pretty stress-free. It’s so easy to get caught up in little things but tries not to sweat the small stuff. It’s still going to be your perfect day and enjoy every moment of it cause unfortunately, it doesn’t last long.”
