Here at Gabbinbar Homestead we love a meticulously planned proposal with all the right ingredients; a very surprised bride-to-be, tears of happiness and of course a big yes, yes, yes! Here’s how Jason managed to turn Emily’s average Friday at work into a weekend she will remember for the rest of her life. It all started when Jason planned with Emily’s boss for her to have Friday afternoon off, he then whisked her away to Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat subtly mentioning that it was to celebrate their 4-year anniversary. Unbeknownst to Emily, Jason carried the ring with him the entire weekend, waiting for the perfect moment to pop the question. It wasn’t until the last day, after tackling an adventurous hike that Jason caught Emily by surprise and proposed whilst she was soaking up the beautiful view at the top of the mountain.
Jason and Emily were initially attracted to Gabbinbar Homestead as they were looking for a wedding venue with a homely feel. At the end of the day Jason and Emily really wanted their guests to feel as if they were celebrating in their own home. Plus, they wanted a location where the ceremony, photos and reception could all be at the one place. So of course, Gabbinbar Homestead ticked all of those boxes. With Gabbinbar Homestead locked-in, Jason and Emily were inspired by the charm of Toowoomba and couldn’t wait to explore the garden city in the days surrounding their wedding.
Celebrating alongside 120 close friends and family, Jason and Emily chose ‘The Pavilion’ for their ceremony and the ‘Conservatory’ for their reception. Formal yet relaxed and romantic was the theme for their special day... Just think fresh white and green florals with lots of candlelight. We loved the intimate mood created in our ‘Conservatory’ with dark linens, touches of gold and dim lighting to enhance the romantic candlelight.
Jason and Emily had some helpful advice for future couples. “Plan early and compile inspiration images so that you are clear about what you like and dislike. Work through a checklist and communicate with the Wedding Planning Team at Gabbinbar Homestead, they are extremely helpful and know what does and doesn't work.”
