Introducing our live cooking menu—an interactive culinary experience

Gabbinbar Homestead takes their food menu to the next level

28 March 2018

Gabbinbar Homestead is proud to introduce our live cooking menu. Bringing flavours from around the world, the live cooking station is positioned in the garden and provide guests with a unique experience as our chef’s grill, prepare and serve a garden feast in front of them.

Here at Gabbinbar Homestead, we’ve seen the wedding food trend evolve over the years. The traditional sit-down three course dinner is still a classic choice however, we’ve seen meal styles grow from the popular grazing style tables to now a fully interactive culinary experience for your wedding guests to enjoy. Our live cooking menu creates a collaborative atmosphere, will satisfy the ‘ultimate foodie’ and gets your guests mixing and mingling in no time.

We have four live cooking menus to choose from which will quench your taste buds and fit perfectly with the theme you’re creating for your special day. Here’s a sneak peek at our four mouth-watering options;

LA FIESTA – A mix of rustic Spanish and Italian flavours.

Think barbequed chorizo combined with smoky spice rubbed chicken in a hearty gravy of onions, chats potatoes, tomatoes and capsicum… let’s just say we were sold at chorizo.

MECCA – A culinary pilgrimage across the Middle East.

More than just a kebab, this live cooking menu combines an array of flavours which really pack a punch. Here’s a little taste - lamb and chicken kebabs accompanied with haloumi and falafel in ras el hanout curry.

ASIAN FUSION - Fresh and fragrant South East Asian cuisine.

Perfect for a Spring afternoon garden party wedding, this menu is nothing but fresh and zesty. How does Thai fishcakes with chilli and lemon grass, and Nam Chim prawn skewers sound?

GABBINBARBIE – A modern take on the traditional Aussie barbeque.

Not your average family style barbeque menu, Gabbinbarbie puts a gourmet twist on the comforting and renown Aussie barbeque. Plus, not just any shrimp will be thrown on the barbie, in fact it will be Queensland prawns plus Northern Territory barramundi, tossed in lemon myrtle butter and roasted garlic.

Taking pride of place on our rolling green lawns in front of Gabbinbar Homestead, our live cooking station certainly brings the wow factor with an impressive white umbrella combined with a white picket fence. We set the scene, so guests can engage with our chef, learn more about the food which is being prepared and most importantly, taste flavours from around the world.
