Eloise & Isaac

Summer 2019

Let’s rewind to 2015 where it all began, Eloise and Isaac met whilst ice skating in Brisbane. Ok, we’ll let Eloise tell the story, “I met a really nice boy called Isaac. He spoke to me for about 20 seconds and in that time, I learned three things; he was very handsome, single, and was a 'farmer kid’ from Gatton. This appealed to me greatly, particularly because I've watched every season of Farmer Wants a Wife and always dreamt of ending up with a farmer.” Two weeks later, Eloise and Isaac had their first date and that was the beginning of their forever.

The proposal — It was Saturday morning the 10th February 2018 when this loved up couple traveled to Mt Glorious for a morning hike. Eloise decided it would be a great day to wear a denim mini skirt, white top and would use the opportunity to break in her new leather shoes (interesting choice). All these decisions were greatly regretted an hour later as Eloise trudged through the bush with blisters on her feet. Eloise pushed on, hoping that maybe, just maybe it would be worth it, and Isaac would finally propose, but also telling herself he wouldn’t make me get blisters to earn a ring. Eloise was certainly onto something, at the top of Mt. Glorious, Isaac got down on one knee and proposed, at the very same spot he told Eloise he loved her all those years ago.

Wedding planning for this couple was somewhat of a breeze because they had already chosen Gabbinbar Homestead as their wedding venue before they got engaged. No other venue compared when Eloise and Isaac considered the service and price. Plus, a summer wedding was on the cards so Toowoomba was hot on their list given the garden city is renowned for more comfortable summer temps. Eloise said, “the service from the first viewing to the big day was spectacular. The team of wedding planners made our job so easy — we were so thankful for the support!”

We love a bit of DIY when it comes to weddings and let’s say Eloise and Isaac nailed it. They chose to forgo a professional videographer as it wasn't important to them to have a feature-length cinematic film of their wedding day. Instead, Eloise and Isaac chose to buy 6 old-school camcorders and give them to different friends to film the day from their perspective. What a brilliant idea to capture such precious moments!

Now happily married, these newlyweds have some stellar advice for those walking down the aisle soon, “establish a budget, decide what you value spending money on and then do the rest cheaply! For us, we valued spending money on the venue, photographer and flowers rather than the smaller details.”
